2003 Dodge Dakota Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an Oxygen Sensor on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: Make sure the engine is cool before changing the oxygen sensor, since the parts around the sensor-the exhaust manifold, pipes and catalytic converter-become very hot while running. First, get the vehicle up, then disconnect the wire from the O2S sensor without pulling on the sensor wire. Use a tool made for removing and installing O2S sensors to take out the sensor. Because the threads on the new O2S sensor are pre-coated with anti-seize compound, you should not add any more. Secure the O2S sensor with a torque of 30 N.m (22 ft.lbs.), reconnect its wire and lower the vehicle after that.
