2003 Dodge Neon A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Damaged or Leaking A/C Condenser on 2003 Dodge Neon?
A: Because the A/C condenser has no parts you can service, you need to change it if it becomes damaged or starts leaking. To begin removal, the system should be cleared by an R-134a refrigerant recovery machine. Take off the battery support strut in the beginning and move on to undo the refrigerant lines from the condenser. After that, unscrew the upper radiator mounts and the screws holding the condenser to the radiator. Lean the radiator back so that the condenser's wires detach. The first step is to put the condenser in place, tilt the radiator backward, add the mounting screws and upper mounts and then secure everything. Fit the refrigerant lines back onto the condenser unit and add back the battery support strut. Secure the condenser refrigerant lines at 5 Nm or 45 in. lbs, evacuate the refrigerant system, then fill the A/C system again.
