2003 Dodge Neon A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Service and Replace an A/C Accumulator on 2003 Dodge Neon?
A: Before you replace the A/C accumulator, it is important to first recover the refrigerant from your vehicle's air conditioning system. You should first clear out the refrigerant from the system. After that, separate the liquid line from the A/C accumulator and the one on the suction line assembly. Take out the accumulator from within the rubber grommet and remove it. During installation, put the A/C accumulator inside a rubber grommet on the right side of the engine compartment. Put in all new A/C line seals on each part as you finish disassembly to prevent refrigerant leaks. Make sure that the A/C accumulator goes inside the rubber grommet, join the liquid line to the A/C accumulator and hook the liquid line on the suction assembly to the A/C accumulator. After that, release all the refrigerant and carefully put it back in.
