2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Rear Brake Line on 2003 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Place a prop rod on the brake pedal to hold pressure in the system and next lift and support the vehicle for the rear brake hose replacement. First, take off the brake line from the hose that attaches to the frame and then remove the brake hose clip sitting at the top of the hose near the frame. Then, remove the vent tube and both of the brake lines at the bottom of the hose near the axle and next remove the nut holding the brake hose to the axle. The first step in installation is to line up the fresh hose and tighten the mounting bolt where the axle is located. Attach the bottom of the hose to the brake lines at the axle, then the vent tube and the brake hose clip to the top hose at the frame. After that, reattach the brake line to the hose at the frame and lower the vehicle, remove the support, pull out the prop rod and remove the air from the braking system.
