2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Rear Brake Disc on 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Begin by lifting the vehicle and putting it on supports, then take out the wheel and tire. After that, carefully take out the caliper anchor bolts and take the caliper away together with the anchor as one assembly, tying the caliper anchor assembly to another suspension part nearby with wire so the brake hose is not pushing the caliper. Take off the retainers that attach the disc to the studs and lift out the disc from the studs. For installation, put the disc onto the axle studs, fit the caliper anchor assembly and attach it with the anchor bolts, tightening them to 90 - 115 Nm (66 - 85 ft. lbs.). Attach the wheel and tire back on, get rid of the supports and slowly bring the car down. Keep pumping the brake pedal until you feel both pistons and shoes placed firmly.
