2003 Jeep Liberty ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an ABS Control Module in Antilock Brakes on 2003 Jeep Liberty?
A: Start by putting a prop rod on the brake pedal to help pressure the brakes and afterwards remove the negative terminal from the battery. Once that's done, pinch the end of the Cab harness connector to release it and then unhook one brake line from the Hcu. With that done, unscrew the mounting nuts and bolt to pull out the Hcu/Cab. Any new Cab that is installed requires reprogramming with a Drbiii. Install the Hcu/Cab over the mounting studs and screw in the mounting nuts until you reach 14.1 Nm (125 in. lbs.). Following that, secure the brake lines to the Hcu and tighten them with a torque wrench to 180 in. lbs. Add the wiring harness to the Cab and push the release button on the connector down, then repeat with the negative battery cable before you begin bleeding the Abs brake system.
