- Q: How to Maintain Your Exhaust Pipe on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?A: Always remember to let the exhaust system cool down completely, because it's hottest near the catalytic converter, when cleaning the front pipes. Raise the vehicle first and then take out the oxygen sensor harness connectors 6 and 7. Support the exhaust system and remove the bolt at flange 8 on the left, the bolt at flange 9 on the right and one from the center at flange 3. After that, take out the left and right exhaust pipes, numbers 5 and 10 and unscrew the bolts 1 at the right exhaust's flange. While installing, check the surface of the exhaust manifold flange and provide a new part when needed. Attach the bolts to the bolt holes on the right side exhaust pipe flange 11, tighten each of them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Position and fasten the front exhaust pipes to the car, then tighten the bolts at each of the flanges: 8 and 9 on the left and right sides and 3 in the middle, according to the directions. Join connectors 6 and 7 on the oxygen sensor wiring harness, feed the oxygen sensor wire harness into the harness retainer, release the exhaust support and drop the vehicle down.
