2004 Chrysler Crossfire Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Upstream and Downstream Oxygen Sensors on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before removing the O2 sensor from the upstream position, disconnect the negative battery cable, take out the air cleaner housing and remove the connector from the O2 sensor harness (1). Anti-seize compound should be applied to the threaded part of the O2 sensor before installing it (1), then tighten it by hand to 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.), fasten the O2 sensor harness connector, hook the air cleaner housing in place again and lastly, reconnect the negative battery cable. For the O2 sensor in the exhaust system, first remove the negative battery cable, then raise the vehicle, disconnect the sensor's connector and take off the sensor from its terminal (1). Always coat the threaded side of the O2 sensor with anti-seize during installation, give all threaded joints a turn while tightening, connect the O2 sensor (1) harness connector and when finished under the car lower it and reconnect the negative cable of the battery.
