2004 Chrysler Crossfire Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before dealing with the mass air flow sensor, first remove the negative battery cable and take out the air cleaner housing. Following that, unhook the MAF/IAT harness from the car and pull out the vent hose. To take off the lock ring that secures the MAF, stick the proper tool into it and push the tabs on the intake to the unlocked position. Using a suitable device, press down the locking tab on the bottom right of the MAF to release it from the intake and next press up the locking tab on the upper left part to release it from the intake manifold. Take out the MAF and have a look at its sealing ring-switch it if it isn't good-as well as the locking tabs on the MAF and the sealing ring joining the air inlet and the MAF. After placing the mass air flow sensor onto the throttle body, secure the lower locking tab with the intake manifold and the upper locking tab too. Check that the upper locking ring's two tabs fit in the intake's two corresponding holes, then squeeze the ring to fasten the mass air flow sensor on the intake. Attach the vent hose to the mass air flow sensor, link the MAF/IAT harness connector, put the air cleaner housing back in and finally link the negative battery cable.
