- Q: How Should You Prepare for Air Bag System Service Procedures on 2004 Chrysler Crossfire?A: Make sure to study all important warnings before doing any work. Lift the negative battery cable first and wait a full two minutes for the extra energy in the system capacitor to dissipate. Take out the ignition key and the door trim panel and afterwards disconnect the squib connector. Prise out the side impact air bag rivets with a drill and remove the air bag from the door. Trim the padding in the side door and then screw new rivets into place for the air bag. Place the squib connector and fasten the door trim panel again. After putting in your ignition key, skip reconnecting the battery's negative cable, as the system test for the air bag module has to happen after working on any supplemental restraint system part.
