2004 Chrysler Pacifica Air Bag Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain the Air Bag Control Module on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: To get started with Air Bag Control Module service, open the hood, unfasten the negative battery cable and wait two minutes for the waiting capacitor to get empty. After that, detach the left and right forward console closeout panels. On the vehicle's right side, take off the two ORC electrical connectors. Take out the three screws that help secure the ORC; you'll find one as you stand at the left of the driver's seat, another in front of the ORC and a third in back of the ORC. Install the ORC back in the vehicle, fix it in place with three screws and torque each screw to 14.5 Nm (128 in. lbs.), as shown in the image. Reconnect both ORC electrical connectors from the right side of the vehicle and then put in the closeout panels for the left and right front consoles. Make sure you hook up the positive cable first, since hooking the cable that is negative first could be deadly to passengers.
