2004 Chrysler Pacifica Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Air Bag Sensor in the Quarter Panel on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before working on the impact sensor in the quarter panel, first open the hood and remove the battery negative cable and then let the system reserve capacitor discharge for two minutes. You need to take off the quarter trim panel that's by the side impact sensor you are changing. Then, unscrew the two holding screws, pull the electrical connector free and remove the sensor from the car. Setup is simple: Set the sensor in your car and connect the electrical link. Fasten the sensor with the two screws to 7.3 Nm (65 in. lbs.) and put the quarter trim panel back on. You should not first connect the battery negative cable, as it may be dangerous and even deadly for those on board. Make sure you confirm the vehicle and system functions work properly just before putting the hood back in position.
