2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Evaporator on 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Disable the air bag system on cars with air bags by separating the ground from the battery, allow it to discharge for two minutes before opening the air bag system. This is important to stop air bags from triggering unnecessarily and causing injury. You should begin by taking off the heater housing and dissesembling it to reach the evaporator. Gentle remove the evaporator from the lower part of the housing. When you install the evaporator, first add 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil to the system and then put in the new evaporator coil into the HVAC's bottom part. Once all work is done, place the HVAC housing back together.
