2004 Dodge Dakota Sway Bar Link Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Sway Bar Link on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: Raise and prop up the vehicle before working on the sway bar link. After removing each upper link's nut and retainer, along with its grommet, take off the lower link nut from the lower suspension arm. The first step of installation is to attach the lower retainer and grommet to a link before fitting the links onto the sway bar and lower suspension arm. After placing the lower link mounting nut, tighten it to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm) and be sure both link end caps are straight. After that, put in the upper link grommet, retainer and nut and tighten it to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). At the end, get rid of the supports and see if the car still covertly rests on a small piece of the rail.
