How to Safely Service and Install a Headlight Switch on 2004 Dodge Durango?

Vehicles with air bags must first have their supplemental restraint system turned off before any work on the headlamp switch. After isolating a battery cable, give the system capacitor two minutes so it can fully discharge. First, remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel and next disconnect the wire harness connector from the back of the headlamp switch. Unscrew the three bolts holding the headlamp switch to the rear of the cluster bezel and pull the switch out. To install, put the connector switch for the headlamp in the back of the cluster and tighten the three screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Rejoin the wire harness connector with the headlamp switch on its back, put the cluster bezel back onto its place on the instrument panel and lastly attach the battery cable to the negative terminal.
