How to Service the A/C Switch for Heater Control on 2004 Dodge Sprinter 3500?

Start by turning off the air bag system on cars that have them by disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable and let it wait two minutes so the air bags discard any power stored in their capacitors. Begin with the center bezel and once that's out, take out the two screws attaching the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel. Pull the heater/A/C control away from the panel to access the back connections and disconnect and mark the two cables and the two wire bundles. If you are changing the A/C-heater control, remove the two brackets from it first. After connecting the mounting brackets to the A/C-heater control if they were previously removed, join together the two wiring harness connectors and control cables. Be sure that the lower adjustment lever's control cable is connected to the front adjustment wheel. Place the control back into the instrument panel and lock it in place using the two screws tightened to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Lastly, clip the center bezel into position and then link the negative battery cable.
