2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wiper Blade Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change a Rear Wiper Blade on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before changing the rear blade, remove the rear wiper arm support from the rubber rear wiper arm park ramp on the right side of the liftgate below the liftgate flip-up glass. The rear wiper arm should be lifted as high as it will go which places the hinge in the over-center position and removes the blade and element from the glass and liftgate. To release the wiper blade, hit the button at the pivot block latch and pull the arm towards the rear motor of the wiper. Move your wiper blade further towards the center of the arm so that the little block detaches from the wire in the arm's end. First, take the wiper arm out through the opening in the wiper blade superstructure ahead of the latch, being careful not to let it push against the liftgate or glass. Lightly lower the wiper arm and put the arm support in the park ramp. Lift the wiper arm up off the liftgate park ramp, then set the rear wiper blade against the tip of the arm where it hooks, with the wiper flexor's notch pointing toward the end of the arm with the connector for the motor. Push the hook of the replacement through the opening above the wiper blade pivot block, insert it down to the pivot and let it secure to the latch/hook on the wiper blade superstructure. Bring the wiper's pivot block/latch up towards the tip of the wiper arm and when the latch release tab snaps into place, gently lower the arm and place the arm support on the park ramp.
