2005 Chrysler Crossfire Heater Control Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Ensure Proper Functioning of the Heater Control Valve in a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Action beforehand by keeping the coolant temperature less than 90°C for heater control valve repairs. Wear protective glasses, gloves and clothing and turn the cap lightly when starting to open the cooling system. Let air pressure go out of the radiator by rotating the radiator cap on the reservoir to point to "1." After that, unscrew the top fastener for the heat shield and take off the heat shield. Close off the hot water hoses, loosen the clamps on the heater water hoses and take out the heater water hose. Remove the connector from the coolant circulation valve (1), take out the rubber mounts from each mounting point on the body side (6) and finally extract the coolant circulation valve. Set the coolant circulation valve where it should be and then attach the rubber mounts to the points on the body side. Reconnect the electrical wire connector (1) to the coolant circulation valve and then attach the heater water hose (2) and tighten the clamps on that hose. Unclamp the tube for hot water, tighten the screw on the heat shield to the engine and finish by topping up the system with coolant.
