2005 Chrysler Crossfire Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Rear Shock Absorber on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Make sure the car is up on its wheels before you begin removing the rear shock absorber's top mounting hardware. You should begin by taking off the shock absorber's upper mounting fasteners. After that, raise the vehicle to an appropriate height and start supporting it. After that, remove the lower control arm plastic cover by unscrewing the bolts that hold it to the lower control arm. Take off the shock absorber from the lower control arm and look it over. Attach the shock absorber first on the lower control arm and hold it in place with the bolt and nut, fastening them to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.). Replace the lower arm plastic cover and tighten its bolt. Ease the whole suspension down slowly, adjusting the top of the shock towards the hole in the frame as you go. Next, install the top shock absorber mounting hardware, tightening to 18 Nm or 13 ft. lbs.
