2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: When working on a diesel or turbo with Clutch Slave Cylinder troubles, first take away the transaxle from the vehicle. Afterward, take out the four bolts connecting the slave cylinder to the bellhousing and remove the slave cylinder from the transaxle, wiping any sealer out of the threads with a suitable tap. To mount the new slave cylinder, hold it on the transaxle with new bolts, torque the three CSC body screws first and put the fluid tube back on after. First, tighten each slave cylinder-to-case bolt to 1-2 Nm (18 inch lbs.), then go up to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.) and finish with 8.4 Nm (74 inch lbs.). Afterwards, put back in the transaxle.
