  A: You must first remove the transaxle and the flex plate to service the crankshaft oil seal at the rear of the car. With a 3/16 flat bladed screwdriver, place it between the dust lip and the metal part of the crankshaft seal so it doesn't touch the seal, but you can let the screwdriver contact the chamfer. Make sure there are no burrs or scratches on the crankshaft before you install the new seal, so you don't damage it. Lubrication is not necessary on the seal while it is being installed. Fit Special Tool 6926-1 Seal Guide into the engine and position the seal over it while the seal lip faces toward the crankcase. Insert Special Tool 6926-2 to install the seal into the block and keep pushing until the handle C-4171 touches the block base, taking care that you don't drive the seal too deep. Once the seal is installed, put on the flex plate, smear Lock & Seal Adhesive on the bolt heads and tighten them to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.).
