  • Q: How to Maintain a Wiper Switch on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: The first thing to do is open the hood and isolate and disconnect the battery negative cable. Take both upper and lower shrouds from the steering column off, then disconnect the posi-lock harness connectors from the back of the multi-function switch. Open the multi-function switch from the mounting area and remove its screws. After that, remove the torx screws securing the wiper/washer switch to the multi-function switch and take them apart. For installation, first put the new wiper/washer switch to the left of the multi-function switch and screw them in place. Place the multi-function switch and drive the two screws in, tightening them to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.). Link the posi-lock harness connectors to both switches in the back and install both shrouds on the upper and lower steering column. Place the negative battery cable back on, close the hood and look for any problems with vehicle and system operation.
