Before working on the air bag or steering column, unplug the battery negative cable, wait for two minutes and only after that should you service the left multi-function switch. Get rid of both shrouds located at the top and bottom of the steering column. Remove the one screw that fastens the right multi-function button of the Steering Column Control Module which is found on the right. Swing the switch far enough away from the module so that you can take out the electrical connector. Remember to remove the switch from the module for installation.

Take the jumper wire harness connector out of the connector receptacle on the inboard end of the right multi-function switch and then remove the switch from the Clock Spring.
