• Q: How to Remove and Install a Canister Purge Valve on 2005 Dodge Dakota?

  A: The engine compartment contains the duty cycle EVAP canister purge valve which is fastened to a bracket next to the brake power booster. Before removing the valve, first disconnect the wire at the valve, next the vacuum hoses and then undo the valve from its attachment on the bracket. Initially, place the valve assembly on the mounting bracket, make the necessary hose connections and lastly add the electrical connection. Double-check that every vapor/vacuum line and hose is securely connected and look for damage or leaks on the NVLD pump, pump filter and emphasize canister purge valve that could trigger a DTC.
