2005 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: Raise and support the vehicle before you attempt to work on the heat shield. Work your way around the screws and nuts holding the heat shields in place, including those under the car, so that both oxygen sensor connectors are separate from the car. Pull the heat shield away from around the exhaust system. After placing the heat shields on the floor pan or frame, put in all screws and nuts, ensuring each screw's torque is within 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.) and each nut's is within 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.). Bring the car to eye level with the tires.
