How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor on 2005 Dodge Neon?

Service of the Transmission Speed Sensor should begin with the disconnection of the battery negative cable. After that, take out the air cleaner/throttle body assembly and pull off the input speed sensor cable. Undo the screw holding the input speed sensor and examine the speed sensor O-ring. If it needs replacement, replace it right away. During installation, first check the O-ring is in the right place and tighten the input speed sensor to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Connect the speed sensor back, attach the air cleaner/throttle body assembly again and attach the battery negative cable last.
