2006 Chrysler Crossfire Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an Automatic Transmission Filter on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before anything else, get the vehicle up in a jack stand, then place a dish or pan below the drain plug of your automatic transmission. With the drain plug and gasket disconnected, let all the transmission fluid pass out. After that, unhook the oxygen sensor wire harness from under the heat shield and sync the heat shield out of the way by removing its screws. Following this, take out all the screws along with the transmission pan and dispose of the old filter in the valve body. It is important to clean the gasket of the transmission and the oil pan before replacing your transmission's filter. Should the transmission pan gasket develop damage or get swollen, change it out first and then attach the transmission pan and bolts, securing them to 8 Nm. After adding a new gasket to the drain plug, tighten it to 20 Nm. Attach the heat shield with its screws and tighten each bolt to 8 Nm. Place the oxygen sensor wire harness within the heat shield and then link the connectors again. After that, drop the car to the floor and pour in the transmission fluid called for in your owner's manual.
