2006 Chrysler Crossfire Exhaust Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair Exhaust Valves and Intake Valves on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before servicing or repairing the intake and exhaust valves and seals, first lift the cylinder head from the motor and bring it to a workbench. Hold your Special Tool C-3422-CF Valve Spring Compressor to compress the valve spring and remove the collets. Remove the valve spring compressor and get rid of the valve retainer and the valve spring along with the spacer. Remove the valve stem seal by using Special Tool 9106 Valve Assembly Tool Case. Following that, get the valve out of the cylinder head and check it for signs of wear or damage, changing damaged parts as you go. Clean each valve and throw away those that are burned, twisted or cracked. When you're installing, fit the valve back into the cylinder head and cover its stem with the protective sleeve. Apply lubricant to the valve stem seal before putting it on the valve stem, then press it on using Special Tool 9106 Valve Assembly Tool Case. Take the protective sleeve off and on top of the valve stem, set the valve spring spacer, spring and retainer. Insert the Special Tool C-3422-CF Valve Spring Compressor and then attach the collets. Repeat it for every valve until the cylinder head is installed.
