2006 Chrysler Pacifica Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your Seat Belt and Retractor on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before working on the front seat belt and retractor, open the hood, disconnect the battery's negative cable and then with the disconnected negative cable removed, pause for two minutes. Pull off the lower seat belt anchor cover on the lower B-pillar and remove the lower seat belt anchor bolt from the pillar as well, without harming the harness pigtail attached to the lower anchor if your car is unfolded. After that, get rid of the B-pillar trim, detach the B-pillar retractor electrical connection and take out the two B-pillar seat belt retaining mounting screws and the retaining ring from the belt. Begin by removing the holders for the seat belts and the turning loop, pull the knob for the height adjustment cover inside so it comes off the seat belt height adjustment, then remove the bolt from the turning loop on the retractor of the seat belt and take everything out of the vehicle. To attach the seat belt, place it and the retractor into the vehicle, bolt the seat belt height adjuster with a retaining bolt (turning loop retaining bolt) and tighten it to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.), then set the seat belt turning loop cover. Put the cover for the height adjuster knob on the vehicle, snap the knob into place, insert the two retractor nuts for the seat belts, turn them tight to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.), adjust the seat belt webbing through the retaining ring on the pillar and insert the mounting bolts for the ring. Afterward, link the retractor electrical connector to its port and if you have the Occupant Classification System, connect the belt tension sensor harness connector to attach the B-pillar trim. After that, install the lower B-pillar trim and thread the end of the lower seat belt anchor bolt and its cover into the lower cutout, tightening them to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.). Never link the negative battery cable until after the air bag system is tested to prevent harm or death to passengers. After that, operate all the vehicle systems to ensure they are working and then close the hood.
