2006 Chrysler Pacifica Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Diagnose and Fix a Throttle Position Sensor Issue on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before servicing or repairing the Throttle Position Sensor, unplug the negative battery cable first. After that, remove the connector from the TPS and take out the screws that hold the TPS before taking it out. When mounting the assembly, the throttle assembly shaft must be inserted into the TPS with its shaft ends resting against the two tabs inside the TPS. After you have indexed the TPS, you can rotate it slightly clockwise until the mounting screw holes line up with those in the throttle body. This is easy to find because the TPS pulls slightly in its proper position. If rotation proves too hard, simply place the sensor with the throttle shaft on the alternative side of the tabs in the socket. Tighten the screws securing the motor to 5.1 N.m (45 in. lbs.) of torque. Make sure the throttle plate is closed after installing the TPS; if it's open, install the sensor on the other side of the tabs. After that, link the electrical connector to the TPS and then reattach the negative battery cable.
