2006 Chrysler Pacifica Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Disconnect and Replace an Oxygen Sensor on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: An important part of disconnecting an oxygen sensor's electrical connector is to be careful not to pull straight on the wire attached to the sensor. The first step is to take out the negative battery cable and afterwards, the heated oxygen sensor's electrical connector. To take out the oxygen sensor, replace the wrench or socket shown in Figure 14a with the Snap-On YA8875 socket or a crow foot wrench. After an O2 sensor change, clearing the PCM RAM memory is necessary by either removing the PCM C-1 connector or disconnecting the negative battery cable briefly, to prevent driveability faults. Clean the threads of the hole after removing the sensor using an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap. If using the first sensor, cover the threads of the sensor with Loctite 771-64 or any comparable anti-seize compound; however, this is not necessary for sensors that come with the product. Torque the sensor to 41 N.m (30 ft. lbs.), link up the heated oxygen sensor electrical wire and attach the wiring clip to the heat shield. The last step is to plug in the negative battery terminal.
