Removing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor While replacing it drain the cooling system to prevent mishandling. Disconnect the negative cable, after which the connector of the coolant sensor, then the sensor. Connect the new sensor making it tight to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.), re-connect the electrical connector, and refill the cooling system.
