2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove and Service an A/C Hose in an HVAC System on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: The first step in repairing or serving the hose/line is to get the refrigerant out of the system. Remove the power steering pump and its reservoir, four bolts and the accessory drive belt from vehicles with the 2.4L Turbo engine, then position everything so it does not get in the way. After that, unfasten the nut on the suction line holder bracket (6) from the thermal housing bolt. Remove bolt (4) from the top of the compressor (3), tie off the A/C suction line (5) and then disconnect the line from the compressor. Screw plugs into each side of the suction line fitting and the compressor port or if that's not possible, securely tape them. Unfasten nut (2) at the A/C suction line's inboard fitting (3) connecting to the accumulator tube tapping block (1), then pull off the A/C suction line and dispose of the O-ring seal. Then, put a plug in or tape over the opened suction line fitting and the accumulator tube tapping block port before you take the A/C suction line out of the engine compartment.
