2006 Dodge Dakota Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Wiper Arm on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: To take out the wiper arm, first reach over it and move it back and to the left, narrowing the angle between the arms, to hold the wiper blade away from the windscreen. Use care and pry off the plastic nut cap from the pivot end of the wiper arm before unfastening the nut that holds the wiper arm in place. If this step is needed, pull the wiper arm off the pivot shaft using a appropriate battery terminal puller, then remove the wiper arm pivot pin. While installing, turn the ignition on and set the multi-function switch to Off to make sure the wiper motor is park position. Let the wiper pivots stop and then switch off the car. Insert the wiper pivot end into the pivot shaft, with the wiper arm, facing up, so that the lower edge of the blade is in line with the lines along the top of the black area under the lower windshield. Release tension on the pivot spring by lifting the arm a little and pushing the arm down over the pivot point. The nut attaching the wiper arm to the pivot shaft should be tightened to 24 N.m or 18 ft. lbs. Wet the windshield, run the wipers, switch the wiper to Off and make sure the wipers are pulled back into position. Simply replace the plastic cap onto the wiper arm pivot nut.
