2006 Dodge Dakota Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Wiper Motor on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: Open the hood and take off both the wiper arms from the pivot point to work with the wiper motor. Disjoin the battery's negative cable and take out the cowl plenum cover/grille from on top of the cowl plenum next. After that, remove the four screws holding the wiper module to the cowl plenum panel and separate the headlamp and dash wire connector from the wiper motor pigtail. Pull the whole wiper module out of the cowl plenum panel. Insert the whole wiper module into the cowl-plenum unit, link the headlamp wire harness to the wiper motor wire and reattach the dash wire harness connector to the module wire. Screw in the four mounting screws to loosely secure the wiper module, then tighten the screws by the hinges of both wiper arms in this sequence: hold the driver side first and tighten to 8 N.m (72 in. lbs.), then tighten the passenger side. After that, squeeze the screws by the motor bracket in order, first the one on the passenger side and then the one on the driver side, both to a torque of 8 N.m (72 in. lbs.). Attach the cover for the cowl plenum, plug the battery negative wire back in, latch the hood closed and then set up the wiper arms back onto their pivots.
