2006 Dodge Dakota Seat Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Seat Switch on 2006 Dodge Dakota?
A: Service of the power seat switch should begin with the disconnection of the battery negative cable. Take out the screw that is holding the recliner lever to the recliner mechanism release shaft on the outboard side of the driver side front seat cushion side shield. Take off the release lever on top of the recliner, then loosen and take out the two screws that attach the driver side seat cushion side shield to the outboard seat cushion frame. Pull the side shield back from the seat cushion and disconnect the power seat switch assembly wire harness connector. Pull out the whole power seat switch module along with the side shield, unscrew the two screws on the inside of the side shield and remove the switch. Fit the power seat switch to the back of the seat cushion side shield, attach it with two screws, get the wire harness connector back and put the side shield and power seat switch assembly on the seat frame. Place the cushion grip side shield screws, attach the recliner button into the release mechanism, secure it with the screw and at last reconnect the negative battery cable.
