  A: If the tube yoke on a universal joint includes a cardan joint, begin by hitting the top of the bearing cap with a drift to remove the snap ring. Access the system by taking out snap rings 1 on both sides of the yoke and placing the yoke so the grease fitting is facing up. Place a socket that will hold the bearing cap beneath the yoke on a press, then use a socket that's smaller than the bearing cap to push the cap through the yoke from above. Should the round bearing cap not release by hand when you press it, tap the ear of the yoke above the bearing cap to remove it. Set both attachment caps to the side, flip the yoke in the press and press down on the cross 1 until you can pop out the remaining cap. Keep the cross or bearing cap straight as you remove it so you don't damage the yoke bore.
