2006 Dodge Ram 1500 MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: At the front of the intake manifold near the throttle body lies the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, closed with an O-ring (2). First, disconnect the connector and then wipe the vicinity of the MAP sensor. After that, unscrew the two mounting bolts and pull the MAP sensor out of the intake manifold to inspect the O-ring. Before placing the MAP sensor, blow it out, inspect for damage and set aside any leftover O-rings. Insert the sensor into the manifold, add the bolts to connect the parts and secure the electrical connector again.
