2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Horn Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Horn on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To service or repair your alarm horn, first shut off the battery and then support and lift the vehicle up. Pull off the horn(s) and bracket from the outboard part of the right front frame rail. Underneath the hood and along the right hand side, find the alarm siren module inside the hollow space at the back of the front frame crossmember, away from the right frame rail. Take the headlamp and dash wire harness connector out of its receptacle on the siren's top. Unfasten the right side screw on the siren mounting bracket and remove the bracket and the siren together. To install, fix the alarm siren module and mounting bracket into the hole at the front crossmember's right end, inboard of the right frame rail and tighten the screw holding the bracket to the crossmember to 14 N.m (10 ft. lbs.). Reach the top of the siren and insert the headlight and dash wire harness connector into the connector receptacle there. Then mount the horns and their bracket onto the outboard side of the right front frame rail, lower the vehicle and reconnect the battery ground cable. If you have installed a new siren module, the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) can't operate until you configure the siren settings via the diagnostic scan tool included in the intrusion module.
