2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hazard Warning Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service the Hazard Warning Switch on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Since the hazard warning switch can be affected by the air bag system, enable safe service for the cars with air bags by first disconnecting and separating the battery negative cable to cut off the air bag circuit for two minutes. To start, take off both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column. Slide the side latches behind the SCM outward towards the back of the hazard switch, then tug on the switch to remove it. Put the switch code into the back of the SCM and then connect the switch to the receptacle found inside with their positions aligned. Squeeze the switch onto the base of the switch housing until each latch is on, install the shrouds, then plug the negative battery cable back in.
