How to Safely Remove and Install a Steering Wheel with Proper Airbag Handling on 2006 Jeep Liberty?

Before taking off the steering wheel, shut off and remove the driver's side air bag. Up to half-turn the steering wheel bolt, leaving it still in place, then fit puller C-3894-A or a similar tool over the steering wheel armature's pockets. Once you've removed the air bags, go ahead and pull out the steering wheel. Replace the old steering wheel bolt with a new one, as it cannot be remounted safely. Insert the steering wheel onto the steering column and secure it properly to ensure correct specification for the Clock Spring. After that, secure the bolt to tighten with 54 Nm of torque (40 ft. lbs.) and reattach the driver's side air bag.
