Ensure you disconnect the negative battery cable and give the system's capacitor two minutes to empty before installing the seat belt. Fit the seat belt tensioner in the vehicle, then mount it with the bolt, tightening it to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Secure the seat belt tensioner squib harness connector so it does not damage any part of the air bag circuit. Once that is done, set the bolt on the upper belt guide and turn it clockwise 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.), then reinstall the carpet up by the windshield. Set the plastic cover on the seat belt and screw it in place at the door opening. Apply the rubber guard to the edge of the door and then secure the bolt at the belt end to the seat, setting the torque to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
