2007 Chrysler Pacifica Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Timing Cover on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before you start, perform the fuel pressure relief and remove the negative connection to the battery. Turn off the air conditioning and remove all of the cooling fluid. After that, disconnect the air cleaner, loosen the bolts on the water pump pulley and take off the accessory drive belt and belt tensioner. Fasteners that keep the power steering pump on should be taken off and the pump set aside, after which you may remove the generator. Disconnect the electrical wire to the compressor clutch, along with both the suction and discharge hoses and lastly detach the oil level indicator tube. Use a hoist to lift your vehicle, empty the engine oil, get rid of the right wheel and take out the inner splash shield. Undo the oil pan and pull the lower radiator hose and the oil cooler hose from their attachments at the cross over pipe. Disconnect the lines connected to power steering from the A/C bracket and the bracket at the cradle and then separate the air conditioning compressor from the engine. Apply special tool #8454 to the crankshaft vibration damper, remove it and unfasten and remove the cross over pipe and just the pipe itself. You can take off the camshaft position sensor and lower timing cover fasteners from inside the wheel well. Take out the water pump to allow the cover to come off, lift the engine with a floor jack and remove the top engine mount equipment. After that, take out the fasteners holding the timing chain cover in place and remove the cover.
