2006 Chrysler Pacifica Timing Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Rear Timing Cover on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before doing any maintenance on the rear timing belt cover, you should perform the fuel release procedure and unplug the negative battery terminal. Following that, pull the timing belt and camshaft sprockets, then remove the bolts and cover from the rear. Please remember that the rear timing belt cover seals the water pump openings to the engine cylinder block using O-rings and you shouldn't reuse these O-rings. During setup, wipe the O-ring joints and grooves inside the rear timing belt cover and then moisten the O-rings with Mopar Dielectric Grease or a compatible grease. Hold the new O-rings against the cover and carefully fit on the rear timing belt cover. Make sure to tighten all the bolts to the proper torque: M10 to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.), M8 to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and M6 to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). In the end, install the camshaft sprockets and timing belt again.
