2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Clutch Slave Cylinder for 1.6/2.4L on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: For 1.6/2.4L models, excluding Diesel/Turbo, confirm the brake master cylinder fluid is full and it is tightly capped before replacing or servicing the clutch slave cylinder. Look at the brake fluid. If it is low, top it off and reinstall the brake master cylinder cap. Lift the car on a hoist, then, using a good screwdriver, take out the snap ring holders on the hydraulic lines from the slave cylinder. Right now, make sure the lines stay in one unit. After the previous steps, take out the bolts that mount the slave cylinder to the transaxle. After that, remove the old slave cylinder from the transaxle and take it out of the hydraulic tube. Place the new cylinder onto the plumbing and lock it in by using both retaining clips.
