2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Neutral Safety Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Neutral Safety Switch on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: The valve body assembly should be removed in order to reach the transmission range sensor. Insert the transmission range sensor, then fasten its retaining screw to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). After that, fix the manual shaft seal and give the park rod's rollers a space inside the guide bracket while you fix the valve body back to the transaxle case. Use 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) of torque to fix the bolts joining the valve body to the case, after which install and inspect the oil filter. Use a thin layer of RTV on the lips of the oil pan and put it onto the case, tightening the bolts to 19 Nm (165 in. lbs.). Replace the vehicle near the ground and insert the transmission range sensor connector. Attach the manual valve lever to the manual valve, after that, attach the gear shift cable to the manual valve lever. Place the battery tray, place the battery inside and secure the hold down clamp. In the end, pour ATF+4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid-Type 9602) into the bottom of the transaxle.
