2007 Dodge Caliber A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove an A/C Accumulator on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: The first step is to disconnect the negative battery cable from the vehicle and recover all the refrigerant from the system, before attempting to remove the HVAC accumulator. Lift the car and remove the front-right wheel. Following this, remove the connectors and screws around the front of the splash shield with the wheelhouse on the right, pulling it away so you can reach the A/C accumulator behind it. Separate the nut joining the lower A/C suction line to the accumulator outlet tube and cut the suction line off. Once that's done, remove the bolt and the retaining band keeping the A/C accumulator on the mounting bracket. Then, break open the nut holding the upper A/C suction line to the accumulator inlet tube and also remove the line from the connector. Delegation of the accumulator mounting bracket from the body is important if necessary. At last, throw out the O-ring seals and gaskets, then put plugs in or tape over both the opened refrigerant line fittings and the accumulator ports.
