2007 Dodge Caliber Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Rear Brake Disc on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: You should first lift the car and support it, then unscrew the mounting nuts that connect the wheel and tire and remove them both. If the caliper is hard to remove, pull back slightly on the caliper piston to provide room for clearance between the pads and rotor; doing so by pulling on the inboard side of the caliper avoids pressing on the piston which may result in damage. After that, remove the lower guide pin bolt from the disc brake caliper. While raising the rear brake caliper, make certain you don't hurt or overstretch the flex hose. Move the caliper assembly upward on the upper guide pin bolt until you can take off the rotor and then hold it there with either a wire or a bungee cord. Attach your tool to any clips keeping the brake rotor onto the hub, then move the rotor off the bearing and remove it.
