2007 Dodge Caliber Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Power Steering Pump for a Gas Engine on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: For a gas engine, first clean the connected power steering pressure hose with a cloth and the pump's hose entrance, swap any worn O-rings with new ones and lubricate the new O-rings using clean power steering fluid. Fix the pump in place and insert the bolts through the openings in the pulley, tightening them to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). Afterward, attach the drive belt and then clamp in the supply hose at the pump end. Cover the pressure hose from the pump onto the pressure port, tighten the tube nut to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) and bolt on the pressure hose routing bracket to the upper mount. After filling the power steering, search for leaks and put on the engine appearance cover before you are done.
