2007 Dodge Caliber Steering Wheel Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Correctly Install a Steering Wheel on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before installing the steering wheel, put the front wheels straight ahead and the turn signal stalk in its middle position. Never let the steering wheel roll back onto the middle of the steering column. Line the large spline on the steering wheel with the open end of the steering column shaft and mount the wheel on the shaft so the Clock Spring meets the back of the wheel freely. Attach the retaining bolt (2) that holds the steering wheel in place and tighten it to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.). Attach bolt (3) where you took it off for the puller and then place the wiring connector (2) into the Clock Spring. Put in the driver air bag (3), but refrain from attaching the battery negative cable until the air bag System Test is done. Last, replace the battery and check to see if everything is working as it should in the vehicle and its systems.
